does anyone else find their little TOFS can eat something, seemingly swallow it well but a few hours later bring up what looks like a sticky?

Peter seems to be doing this with certain foods at the moment, bringing up a large lump of food hours after eating it, pastry in particular.
It always happens when he has gone to bed as well.

Hi

Thomas has done this a couple of times with strawberries. Seems absolutely fine then about two hours later he coughed up a piece. I spoke to his surgeon at our last appointment and because of this, and him just generally struggling with certain foods, he decided to do an endoscopy and stretch.

He didnt actually say what causes it, so not sure if it is because he had a narrowing or not but he did say that it is a worry when that happens as they are more likely to aspirate when food is just sitting there and not going down.

Not sure if this post is much help to you but just to let you know we have had a similar experience.

We have had similar experiances - esp with ‘claggy’ foods.  Doesnt happen all the time just now and again.  Often if ben has a cold and is generally more mucusy.  The surgeon seem to think there is a slight ‘lip’ in his join and food can get stuck there.

No solution apart from usual ones im afraid - just good sometimes to know youare not the only one :O)

thanks guys, it is good to know we are not the only ones dealing with this.

I am going to keep a record of instances in case they start getting more frequent.
