Amy was at hospital last week, the choice I have is:-
x rays with the fluid, although I been told that it shows up a restricture, so they do not get a true picture of what going on.
Camera down but we do not know if Amy throart is healed and ok from when it all went wrong. I explain in a bit.
Leave her for a year…as she knows what she can and can not eat and has no major chokes. Just small chokes which we can deal with.

Amy last camera and streched was at 6 months old, and the camera, got stuck, and the tube got stuck and then they put a balloon in and Amy ended up with holes in her throart and chest wall. The worse part I have dealing with it, is the Constualtion who did the operation did not tell any one. Amy was passed on to another consuation who send her for x rays and then authosied me to give her a bottle of milk. It was only after the first consulation found out Amy had the milk that she instead on more x rays. The x rays showed the holes.
48 hours later my little girl was dying cas the milk had cured in her lungs. They de-inflation her lung and put an antibotic wash though and the next night they had to do the other lung. She spent a long time intensive care and was on 5 antibotics at once.
It took nearly 5 years for me to be able to talk about this and I still feel guilty for signing the consutaltion form. I keep wondering why the consulation never told anyone it had gone wrong…
My problem is I do not trust the Hopsital and Amy is not having terrible problems, so do you think I should leave her for a year as long as there is no major problems.
She had an awful lot of x rays when she was little and a few chest x rays in the last couple of years.

Hi,
After reading your story im not surprised you feel like you cant trust your hospital, i really dont understand why the 1st consultant didnt tell anyone about all the tears that had been made, and then especially to put your daughters life at risk like that, its just terrible.

As for the choice it is completely your decision, what does your gut tell you do to?

If your really not happy and feel you cant trust your existing hospital could it be a possibility to switch to another hospital? or have a really good in depth chat with her consultants you have at the minute, about what happened in the past and what your choices are now for the future, as that may help?

Also if they are unsure if the tears may not be fully healed and she knows her safe foods to eat, and it doesnt hinder her too much, then waiting a year could give her throat that extra healing time it may need? Or will them having a look down improve her life and eating? Its a tough one, i suppose you have to see if one out-weighs the other in the good it can do.

Thanks for your advice. I going to leave Amy for a year and hopefully we won’t encounter a big problem.
