Calling all Tofs and their families We are having an AWARENESS WEEK from 11th to 18th October this year! The aim is to make our condition (I’m an old tof)better known and understood and to raise funds for TOFs. TOFs is running a media campaign to drive the press into action. So far Harrison and Christopher have already made a flying start! See their contributions posted on the forum. The more people who join in the better. A press release has gone out to all the major newspapers, relevant magazines plus television programs. If you would like to take part or are already involved it would be great to hear from you and how you are getting on. Both Christopher and Harrison’s family ensured the tof website got into the articles, keep the ball rolling by reminding the press that it is http://www.tofs.org.uk and make everyone aware of the awareness week.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
Sophie

Hugo is also doing a big sponsored splash and we are raffling boxes of childrens books at 2 local nurseries to raise money for tofs.

Dear All,
On 13th October in TOFS awareness week Myles and I will take on the challenge of cycling on a tandem 157 miles in 24hrs from where Kyle’s journey began in the Norfolk and Norwich to his home now in Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.  We are raising money for 3 charities close to our hearts, TOFS, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Norfolk and Norwich Hospital NICU. If you would like to read Kyle’s story or sponsor us for these AMAZING charities then please click on the above link.
We featured in the Norwich Evening news this week and hope to also get an article in our local paper (also to include the TOFS website) here on TOFS awareness week.
Hoping that this winter all the colds, chest infections, breathing issues and viruses are kept to a minimum for our precious TOF children!!

Best Wishes

Myles, Suzanne, Kyle and Isla Thorne x

Hi, that’s great! Is a tandam difficult to ride? I would love to sponsor Kyle and read his story, could you put the link in again?
I hope the walk goes really well. Good luck and keep Kyle and Isla.
Best wishes

Thank you, that’s great!I will do a donation in a min. Good luck with it. Remember to sound exhausted as you rest on the hills. I am a public nuisance on a bicycle, definitely safer on foot.

Take care and best wishes

Hi all,
Just to let you know there’s an Awareness Week poster available to download and print with space on it so you can write the details about the event you’re organising.  You can access it from TOFS home page or directly on this link: http://www.tofs.org.uk/index.php/news/article/print-out-your-awareness-week-poster-now/

Great work so far, thanks so much for your efforts.

Very best wishes,
Diane and all at TOFS

I don’t post many messages but do read the forum regularly so I thought I would just add my little bit for the Awareness Week.
I work for Cheshire Police and I am holding The Big Bake at the police station selling cakes and biscuits for TOFS.The force are doing an article in the internal newspaper featuring myself with my twin boys Jake TOF/OA and Dylan - non TOF, to advertise the awareness week (with the website details)and the cake sale. I am also asking the members of the force who cannot poison themselves on my cakes to donate just £1 each. I am also hoping that the internal website will advertise TOFS on the actual week.
Jake’s nursery is also holding an outdoor obstacle course and fancy dress day to raise funds for TOFS.

Heres hoping the Awareness Week will bring understanding for our special TOF children.

My sister has managed to organise a charity disco/ Auction, this week she has been on Corby FM and had an interview with BBC Northampton explaining Tof and advertising her event to get as many people to come which I will ensure has all the information on display.
I will be pushing for more awareness for the actual week.

I have organised an online charity auction, all proceeds to go to TOFS

I have had some good donations so far and more to come!!

one of my local papers is coming on tuesday to do a story and take photos and during tofs week, a new community shop is being opened by andy burnham (candidate for labour leadership) and the owner will be featuring the auction!!

this is a link to the auction ‘event’ http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=154468357904663&ref=ts
when you go on the event page there is a further link to see what is up for auction so far, there are swimming lessons, washable baby wipes, nursing necklaces, cummy clip, cake!! and much more to come.

this is a link to a group ‘raising funds for tofs’ I thought others could post there fundraising ideas on there as well to raise even more awareness.
