My name is Sarah, I am Joseph’s mummy. Sadly he passed away on 7 August 2009, he was 3 months old. He spent his short time in Lewisham NICU, as well as suffering OA, he had Down Syndrome and other congenital problems. I miss my Joseph every single day, caring for him, worrying about him, watching him, laughing at his funny little faces and ways…
Unfortunately although I’ve been a member of TOFS since Joseph was born on 30 April, I’ve never had much time to make friends on here, as I live approx 80 miles from the hospital so spent all my time travelling and looking after my 15 year old daughter and family at home, as well as spending every day with Joseph.
I just needed to share sometime with you all, a heartbroken mummy. x
I can only try to imagine how hard this must be for you. I’m sure no words I can write could make things better, but now our thoughts are with you all at this time. It sounds as if you worked so hard to care for Joseph - I’m sure his Mummy is one of the best…
Love Claire, Martyn, Oliver and Harrison. xx
Gosh Sarah this is desperately sad. You sound like a wonderful, caring mother and you painted a beautiful picture of your son. My thoughts are with you and your family.
My heart and thoughts are with you and your family. Words can not express how heartbroken you must be. Stay as strong as you can and keep in touch. We are all here for you.
So sorry to hear of your sad loss. We have a little star that we hang on our Christmas tree every year for the little ones that were not so lucky as ours when he struggled at the start. We will think of Joseph each time we hang it.
So so sorry. You fought for your little man but he’s gone to join the stars. I have no words to help you but wish for you a healing journey back to normality and happiness (whenever that may be)
Dear Sarah
I cried reading your post.I cant imagine how hard your journey has been. Big hugs and all our thoughts are with you

I have just joined this site. My son is Otis also born with Ds and TOF/OA. Your the first mum I have meet in the same position. I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, Joseph sounded an adorable little boy. We live in NZ and as you can imagine very hard to find anyone “out there” with a TOF let alone TOF and Ds!! Otis is now 8 months old and having a few complications with his TOF but other than that, the most adorable little boy. He has a big smile on his face for .... nearly everybody he meets and has a twinkle in his eye. Feel free to chat any time if you feel like talking about Joseph. Arohanui

Sarah,
You have had an incredibly tough journey. My thoughts are with you.
You have been very strong & very brave, and I’m sure that wherever little Joseph is now he knows that his mammy was with him, and still is, every step of the way x
Much love,
