i was going to tag this onto another thread (ive started enough of them) but i didnt know which one and im confused (doesnt take much)

Peter was due to go in for a dilatation last friday, he was starved all day then it was cancelled.

the thing is, im not even sure if his problems are due to a stricture or not.

I thought they would have done a barium swallow first but they havnt.

Peter is eating but has gone backwards and is only eating very sloppy food again, we keep trying lumps but he has problems hours after, especially in the night which I think is the reflux or the dysmotility.

The hospital cannot get him another date for a dilatation at the moment as they are very busy with emergencies so I am not sure what to do at all.

I know its not a life or death emergency but I also dont think its something he can wait weeks/months for either.

when I ring they never get back to me, I have to do all the chasing so I feel a nuisance.

My gp and HV are no use.

Some people tell me to keep mithering but I know there are some very poorly babies in there and in comparison I should be grateful so I end up not ringing.

What would others do?  (sorry for the moaning ramble AGAIN)

hi jo, well i kept pestering them and now we have peter pencilled in for feb 27th

im hoping it doesnt get cancelled again, he keeps losing weight due to him not eating

we took him to our gp yesterday because he has been quite poorly with a cold and wanted to rule out a chest infection, he was astounded over every food he suggested to try we said peter couldnt manage it, he really didnt seem to understand at all.

i dont think the health visitor does either

Hi

We have been in this situation a few time and I completly sympathise with you.

GP and Health Visitor (when I have one lol) are useless!  When I went to the GP other week with Lucy we ended up ringing the hosp to get an urgent appointment as GP didnt have a clue!!

Lucy has Dismobility of the Oesophagus and although she has had her Nissens she still seems to need the Ranitidine even though no reflux present on xray!

At the moment Lucy still not gaining weight and the Lympth Glands in her neck are swollen, they not sure why so keeping a close eye on her and has to go back in a month to see if any improvment before they do more tests!!
