peter was gaining tons of weight each week then when he was 4 months old it stopped and he started losing.

he is only 14lb at 7 and a half months old, his weight doesnt increase, he gains then loses it then stays the same,

hes not mobile, not rolling, sitting unsupported etc

hes just like a 3 month old,

is this common for tofs?

hes been prescribed infatrini and another powder to go in his food to boost his calorie and has been on it for nearly 2 weeks now but still not gaines weight

Robbie has always had a problem with his weight gain, and it doesnt help when health visitors are on your back with weight charts - i stopped going. Robbie is now three and a half years old and weighs only 26 pound and is in 18-24 mths clothes but he does have iugr. He has been on all those milks and is currently on paedisure. Dont know whether the milk has helped much though, Robbie has never been a big eater and i think even now, he could take it or leave it, i have to tell him when to eat or he wouldnt eat at all. I used to worry myself sick when he was a baby about calories etc, but now i think, robbie is small and will always be small and im a lot happier now i dont worry as much. He also has developmental delay too which is an added worry.

Hi peter’s mum. We have been through similar with harrison. 2 years and 2 months old and weighs 18 or 19 pounds. Physically, he was quite developmentally delayed, didn’t walk until he was nearly 2, but has just about caught up. And i must stress that the delay was purely physical and related to size. Nothing wrong with his thinking skills, the little minx!!! Hee hee. We have been on various milks and powders. When we started Duo-cal calorie powder it took a few weeks to take effect, so don’t lose heart. Do you have a dietician? ours faxes prescriptions straight to our GP. There are loads of things to try…Also calogen, a strwaberry flavour liquid made of fats and portein - that really helps and he likes it.

hi, peters delay seems to purely physical also, his dietician didnt even know about tofs so wasnt a great help, he has been on infatrini and duocal now for a month on top of his 3 meaks and 4-5 breastfeeds a day but still refuses to gain weight, i will ask about the calogen when i speak to her next week thanx
